Superheroes - 5 Books We Love
The Amazing Adventures of Bumble Bee Boy
The Amazing Adventures of Bumblebee Boy is a sweet story about a little boy who is playing superhero with his toys and his baby brother wants to play too, however, Sam doesn’t want his baby brother to play with him. This leads to some conflict until Sam realizes that it might be more fun to play with his brother.
I loved that this book included superheroes and some VERY relatable social skills in the most natural of ways. This is a MUST read if you have two kids as it will teach your Lil’s about playing together and it had some good strategies to kindly tell siblings that you want to play alone.
Even Superheroes Have Bad Days
This is a great book about what superheroes are and what they can do, plus it has a message about making good choices and turning a bad day into a good day. This book is a bit wordy and doesn’t have a super clear storyline, so it may not be the best choice for our younger Explorers.
Elliot Jones Midnight Superhero
This is a fun and sweet book. There is no hidden message, just a book written for plain old fun, which I absolutely love.
Super Rawr!
This book is about a dinosaur who comes in on career day and shares with the class that he is a superhero. He explains what superheroes do and how they do it. This a really simply written book and it is awesome for introducing the idea of superheroes and what they do.
Do Superheroes have Teddy Bears?
This book is written in question and answer format, so it isn’t your typical book with a progression of a plot. The characters in the book ask if superheroes do X just like them. The answer is always positive and it leads to the characters realizing that the heroes in their life (their parents) are the same as superheroes because they do many of the same things.
To be honest, this wouldn’t have been a book I would have chosen to read again, HOWEVER Rea requested it over and over. I think she liked that the book pointed out many ways in which superheroes are just like her.
