Dinners for February - Meal Planning

Dinners for February - Meal Planning

 Hi friend! I have been itching to share more frequently here on my blog. I am debating between creating 1 or 2 blog posts each week. My hope is to share all the content that I can creating for social media here on the blog.

The benefit of having it here on the blog is that you can search for it ya know. There are going to posts where you can remember that I shared it and what it was about but you can't find it on my social media because you can't type in keywords.

But at the same time, one week of social media for me can be such a hodge podge of ideas that just don't make sense in one blog post.

As I type this out, I think I will just have to play each week by ear and create 1-3 post depending on what makes the most sense. Thanks for talking that out with me ❤️

Meal Planning February 2023

With it being the beginning of the month I am working planning my dinners for the month.

I hate this chore, so I make sure to only do it once.

The planner that I have used for the last 3 years is Plan to Eat. I just learned that they have a referral program so if you use this link to sign up you get 20% off and I do too.

Recipes We're Trying For the First Time

Hot Honey Chicken

Creamy Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

I have shared a few recipes this week too

Biscuits and Gravy

I am trying to learn how to make biscuits and gravy for Eric. It is his childhood favorite that his mom used to make before she passed away.

I am struggling with it and while Eric is SUPER gracious as I learn and most people on Tik Tok gave good advice, some people need a little more joy in their life and I will pray for them. I am going to try and redeem myself this weekend with the tips people suggested.

@sandboxacademy Hang out with me as I attempt and semi-fail to make my husband’s favorite meal biscuits and gravy using a bacon gravy. #sundaymorningbreakfast #sundaymorningmomvlog #nonasetheticmom #husbandsfavoritemeal #familybreakfast #biscuitsandgravyrecipe #sundaybreakfast #giftsformyhusband #nonasethetic #momofyoungkids ♬ original sound - Emily | Preschool Activities

Spagetata

I also found this wonderful Italian Mom on Tik Tok who is sharing authentic recipes from Sicily. Count me in for that. This recipe was easy in that it didn't require a lot of skill, but it was time consuming with the prep. The whole family liked it so it is a win.

@sandboxacademy Rita @cucinaparlemo this pasta dish is AMAZING! Perfect dinner for the whole family. #kidfriendlydinners #pastadinners #pastafordinner #cookwithme #familydinneridea #momofelementrykids #nonasetheticmom #dinnervlog ♬ original sound - Emily | Preschool Activities

Yogurt Smoothies

Derek can eat an entire pack of Danimals in one sitting. No thank you. All the $$$. And all the sugar. PASS. I make the smoothies now with greek yogurt (protien), frozen strawberries of rasberries (when our fresh berries are forgotten and about to turn gross I freeze them), and honey.

 Command Center

command center- table in my home that houses my calendars and all the frequently referenced material

I plan our meals on the Plan to Eat app, but Eric and the kids always want to know what is for dinner so I also transfer it to our giant monthly family calendar.

Obviously, I still read it to D but Eric and Reagan can read it themselves and having it on the calendar makes it a quick visual for me of what meat I need to take out.

I got the idea of a command center (where I keep all of my regularly used item) from my friend Marla in her SAHM course. (affiliate link)

What I keep in the command center:

  1. Monthly Wall Calendar - the company who made mine no longer makes them. This is very similar
  2. Daily Planner
  3. Preschool Playbook
  4. Kids' important school work
  5. Work binders and notebooks

Basically all the items that used to pile up on my counters. But now they are in a nicely manicured home.

Thank you so much for being part of my community. I am so grateful to be able to share my days with you and for your kindness towards me and my family. I hope you find these posts helpful and if you need anything from me be sure to let me know.

xoxo

Emily
