Easter Craft for Preschoolers
I have always loved crafts, but crafts and toddlers don’t always together, which is why I was super excited to try this Easter craft for preschoolers with my two favorite preschoolers. We are in the middle of COVID-19 and most us need to make due to with the most basic of supplies. All that to say we are “decorating” Easter eggs with a tie-dye effect. This method leads to beautiful results and scribbles are 100% acceptable.

- Uses writing materials to write (pencils, pens, crayons, markers)

- Use a variety of visual art materials (paint, markers, crayons, clay) with minimal adult assistance
- Explore the use of materials in a variety of different ways
Required Materials

White Paper
*Markers
Foil
*Sharpie
Water
Step #1
Draw an oval shape on a piece of paper. Create designs on the oval/egg.
*You can use a bowl to trace the basic shape or you can grab a copy of the free printable below.
Step #2
Color a piece of tin foil using markers.
Step #3
Spray the foil with water. A spray bottle will be helpful, but you can also simply flick water drops on the foil.
Step #4
Press the egg drawing on the foil. Rub firmly to be sure to transfer the color to the paper.
Step #5
Lift the paper off the foil to reveal the tie dye effect.
Teacher Tip
You can cut out the egg or leave it as is. It would also look nice glued on a piece of construction paper as a background.
