Did you see our story where I was going through book after book about the Winter Olympics?

There were so many good books to choose from.

I have narrowed it down to 5 and I am super excited to share them with you!

Tacky and the Winter Games

Tacky and the Winter Games by Helen Lester

Have you read Tacky the Penguin? It is an instant classic about accepting people for their differences.

Well Tacky is at it again, but this time he is going to the Winter Games. And in true Tacky fashion, he messes everything up, until he doesn’t.

This is a great book about the winter games, but more importantly about how each individual brings their own value and set of skills (no matter how tacky they might be).

Snowman Paul and the Winter Games

Snowman Paul and the Winter Games by Yossi Lapid

This book is great for teaching your Lil’s about sportsmanship.

Snowman Paul cheats during the Winter Games and learns the importance of playing fair from his friends.

It's a Big World Little Pig

It’s a Big World Little Pig by Kristi Yamaguchi

This book is about the magic of the olympics where athletes gather from all over the world to compete and make friends. It is written by winter olympian Kristi Yamaguchi as she describes Poppy the Pig’s experience meeting other olympians at the Wold Games.

Max and Marla

Max and Marla by Alexandra Boiger

This one’s about two true olympians who run into a few problems. Like true olympians, Max and Marla keep persisting and never give up until they reach success. I absolutely love this book because it focuses on the importance of hard work and perseverance.

Little Red Gliding Hood
Little Red Gliding Hood by Tara Lazar
Little Red needs new skates to skate to Grandma’s. She wants to join a competition to win new skates but everyone already has a partner, except the Big Bad Wolf who turns out to be not so bad.
This is the only book on the list that is about a specific event versus the Olympics as a whole, but I just love when authors put a spin on classics. There are various cameos from multiple fairy tale characters that will make you and your Lil’ smile.
