One way we can see if our child is comprehending the text is by asking the simple question, “Can you tell me what happened in the story?” While this isn’t always the most exciting way to recall details and engage with a story, it is certainly a valuable and important skill.
For that reason, this preschool lesson will focus on sequencing The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf. This will engage your child in recalling details as well as using vocabulary terms such as first second and third, and last.
Lil’ Creators Focus Skills

Print and cut out the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf Sequencing Template.
Read the story Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf, this is my favorite rendition of it.
After reading the story, place the three pictures in order of which happened first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and last.
You could also use the sequencing mat while you’re reading. Fill it out as you read by placing each picture in the correct spot when you read that portion of the text.
