This activity is a really great way to work on writing and fine motor skills in a kinesthetic manner.

Lil’ Creators Focus Skills


  • Can identify all lowercase letters and some sounds (k, n, q, u, x, y, z)


  • Can form all capital letters and some lower case letters (k, n, q, u, x, y, z)

Fine Motor Skills

  • Coordinate the use of hands, wrists, and fingers to complete tasks that require more precise movements
  • Engage in activities that require hand-eye coordination with increasing accuracy

Step #1
Print and cut out the Sprinkle Writing Template.
Step #2
Pour sprinkles on a plate so that they cover the entire plate.
Step #3
Using the letter templates as a visual reference, write each letter in the sprinkles.

Teacher Tip

You can use your finger to write to get a more kinesthetic and sensory experience or you can use a paintbrush to get the feel of a pencil or marker.
