Our Lil’s are pretty smart and, crazy as it may seem, they can begin to work on subtraction.
Now I’m not talking about giving them a worksheet with a bunch of problems on it. That is very abstract and developmentally, our Lil’s are not ready to comprehend abstract concepts.
However, math is actually a very concrete subject, so as we introduce subtraction (or any other math concepts) we should focus on the concrete concepts. This means word problems or story problems that you ACT OUT!
