I am very excited about today’s letter of the week activity! Your Creator will design a cute little paper snail using the letter S. Your creator will love getting to decorate their little snail shell while learning about the letter S.

Reading

  • Can identify all capital letters and most sounds (S)

Visual Arts

  • Use a variety of visual art materials (paint, markers, crayons, clay) with minimal adult assistance

Required Materials

S is for Snail Template

*Construction Paper (4 colors)

*Glue

*Googley Eyes

*Markers

Step #1

Print and cut out the S & snail shell template on colorful construction paper (we used pink and yellow)

Step #2

Glue the S on the third piece of construction paper (we used light blue)

Step #3

Glue the shell on the white paper so that it slightly overlaps the bottom of the S

Step #4

Cut out a 2-3 inch circle for the head and glue two googley eyes draw a smile. Glue the face to the top of the S.

Decorate the shell with markers

Label the paper for your child, S is for Snail
