Baa Baa! s is for sheep!

We are going to teach our Lil’ Creators about the lowercase letter s and the sound it makes with today’s activity.

Lil’ Creators Focus Skills

Reading

  • Can identify all lowercase letters and some sounds (s)

Visual Arts

  • Use a variety of visual art materials (paint, markers, crayons, clay) with minimal adult assistance

Required Materials

s is for sheep template

*Construction Paper

*Markers

*Googley Eyes

*Glue

*Scissors

*Cotton Balls

Step #1

Print and cut out the s is for sheep template.

Step #2

Glue the s to a piece of construction paper.

Step #3

Glue the head to the top end of the s.

Step #4

Attach 2 googley eyes.

Step #5

Pull the cotton balls apart a little to make them imperfect like sheep’s wool.

Glue the cotton balls to the s.

Step #6

Draw 4 legs at the bottom of the s and label the paper s is for sheep.

Teacher Tip

The lowercase s should be a little easier than some letters because it is the same basic shape as the capital letter, just smaller.
