Plus, it is FABULOUS fine motor in hand-eye coordination practice!

  • Coordinate the use of hands, wrists, and fingers to complete tasks that require more precise movements
  • Engage in activities that require hand-eye coordination with increasing accuracy

Required Materials

*Paper Plate

*Yarn

*Scissors

Step #1
Cut 7 or 8 grooves along the edge of the plate.
Step #2
Cut a 3 to 4 foot long piece of yarn.
Step #3
Begin to wrap the yarn around the plate through the notches you created.
It is totally OK to be random on this. In fact, that will likely make a better looking web.
Step #4
Continue this process until you have used all of your yarn.
Step #5
Wrap and tie the end of the yarn around other strings to fasten it.
Step #6
Add a fake spider or two to complete your web.

Teacher Tip

When you first get started, you will likely have to hold the beginning strand in place. Once you get several wraps around it though, it will stay in place on its own and you can use both hands freely.
