Reading gets a HUGE push in school but, while it is totally warranted, I have to say that math does not get as much credit as it deserves. Granted I was a math and science teacher so I am a little biased.
With that said, we are working on numbers and the various ways they can be represented. They will allow your Lil’ to work on identifying numbers and their value.

*Scissors

*Glue (Optional)

Step #1
Print and cut out the Olympic Rings Number Puzzles template.

Try having your Lil’ cut the blank puzzles out while you cut out all the circles “rings”.

Step #2
Invite your Lil’ to put the puzzles together so that all of the coordinating pieces are on the correct puzzle base.
For instance a complete puzzle should include:
  • the number symbol
  • the written number
  • the number on dominoes
  • the number on fingers or tally marks
  • the number represented by numbers
Step #3
Glue the completed puzzles to the base if you like.

Teacher Tip

This can be a difficult task for your Lil’. You can adjust the difficulty by adjusting the number puzzles you work on at once. Doing one at a time will allow your Lil’ to really focus on each number and the various ways it can be represented, so there is nothing wrong with working on one number at a time.
