Last month we did garden dough mats to work on our numbers and this month we are going to continue working on our number using dough mats, but they will be ocean themed! These dough mats are a wonderful way to work on forming numbers and the value of numbers (often called one-to-one correspondence in teaching.)

Lil’ Explorers can grab your FREE templates HERE for numbers 5-8.

Lil’ Creators can grab your FREE templates HERE for numbers 9-12.

We will be doing this activity multiple times, each time focusing on a different number.

#### *Play Doh

##### Step #1

Use the Play Doh to build the number and trace over it with your finger.

##### Step #2

Put the corresponding number of sea animal beads in the “ocean”

For example, the number 5 would require 5 sea animal beads.

##### Step #3

Fill in the 10 or 20 frame with the corresponding number of sea animal beads.

For example, the number 10 will have 10 beads in the 10 frame.
