Are you ready for a super simple math activity?
The games are about half-way through now so it is time to count our medals.
Our Lil’s will be working on their number sense as they count their medals and find the corresponding number.
Bonus- there is ALMOST no prep involved in this activity.

Lil’ Explorers Focus Skills

Algebraic Thinking

  • Count from 0-10
  • Understand values of numbers 0-10

Fine Motor Skills

  • Coordinating the use of arms, hands, and fingers together to manipulate objects with increasing accuracy
  • Engage in activities that require hand-eye coordination

Lil’ Creators Focus Skills

Algebraic Thinking

  • Count from 0-20
  • Understand values of numbers 0-20

Fine Motor

  • Coordinate the use of hands, wrists, and fingers to complete tasks that require more precise movements
  • Engage in activities that require hand-eye coordination with increasing accuracy

Medal Counting - Creators

Clothespins

*Scissors

Step #1
Print and cut out the Medal Counting Template.
Step #2
Focus on one card at a time.
Step #3
Count the medals and place a clothespin on the corresponding number.
Step #4

Repeat this process for all the cards.

Teacher Tip

Don’t have any clothespins on hand? You can use a pom pom or a small toy to mark the correct number.  However, you will lose the fine motor skills portion of the activity.
