I talked about the benefits of matching activities in our Cluck Cluck Shape Match post, but this time we’re going to pair our matching skills with some science.
We are going to learn a little more about farm animals as we match mama animals to their babies!

Mama & Baby Animal Match

*Scissors

Step #1
Print and cut out our mama and baby animal match template.
Step #2
Lay all the mama animals on the left and all the baby animals on the right.
Step #3

Invite your little to match the mama animals to their babies. Be sure to talk about the name of each mama animal and the baby animal. Most of our Lil’s are familiar with the name of the mama animals, however the name of the baby animals will be new to them.

Teacher Tip

If this is too hard for your Lil’, use fewer animals at a time.
If this is too easy for your Lil’, mixup the mamas and babies so that they have to search a little more.
