I am kinda obsessed with this activity.
When I taught elementary school, I taught a unit on magnets so this activity has me reminiscing.
While we understand the science behind it, our Lil’s see this and think it is pure magic straight out of Harry Potter! That’s my favorite aspect of science: the fact that it can appear magical.
This is a quick and easy STEM activity.

Required Materials

Magnet Hockey Player Template

*Paper Plate

*Magnet Set

*Hot Glue Gun

*Scissors

Step #1
Print and cut out the Magnet Hockey Player Template.

You only need one hockey player, but we included a boy and girl version.

Step #2
Fold the template on the solid line.
Step #3
Glue a magnet to the flap.
Step #4
Place the hockey player on the paper plate.
Step #5
Use a second magnet under the plate and move it around so that it connects with the magnet above the plate and causes the hockey play to skate around.
