The farm capital and lowercase letter match works on pairing capital and lowercase letters together. This is an important step in phonics and reading instruction. There are 52 letter symbols (26 capital and 26 lowercase) but only 26 letters in the alphabet that can be confusing for our preschoolers.
For our 4-5 year-olds, I like to show capital and lowercase letters together so we can train our preshoolers’ brains that they are a set. Today’s activity is an opportunity to focus specifically on matching capital and lowercase letters together.
This activity will help your preschooler recognize the fact that capital letters and lowercase letters are connected.
