Step #1
Print a copy of the Dirty Dinosaur template.
Step #2
Invite your Lil’ to color their dinosaur using crayons.
Step #3
Tell your Lil’ that their dinosaur was playing in the mud and got dirty.
Step #4
Ask them to paint different parts of their dinosaur’s body brown to show that they are dirty.
For example: Oh-NO! Dinosaur jumped in the puddles and now his feet are all muddy. Can you paint dinosaur’s feet brown?
Try to only use words, do not point to the area you want them to paint.
Step #5

Repeat this type of story telling as often as you wish. Some other areas that you can say got dirty are the dinosaurs horns, spots, tail, nose. belly, and spikes.

Teacher Tip

After your Lil’ has followed your directions, add a fun twist and let them tell you where to paint. Your Lil’ will love getting the opportunity to teach you!
