Reagan and I did these puzzles about a year ago, so doing them again with her now is incredible because I can see how much she has grown. Last time we did this activity, she needed a TREMENDOUS amount of help, but this time the only thing she needed from me was to read the number words.
These adorable number puzzles are a great learning activity for your preschooler to learn the various ways a number can be represented.

Step #1
Print and cut out the Dinosaur Number Puzzles Template.
*Do not cut up the blank dinosaur. I included him as a guide for your Lil’ to build their number puzzles on.
Step #2
Invite your Lil’ to put together the Dinosaur Number Puzzles.
Step #3
Talk to them about each number and its value as you complete the puzzles.
Do this by:
  • Identifying the number
  • Reading the number word
  • Counting the number of dots on the dice (die)
  • Counting the number of egg

Teacher Tip

This is a lot of work (especially for our Lil’ Explorers), so go at your Lil’s pace. Take breaks when needed or do just a few puzzles each day.
