This is another one of those super simple activities that I put out for the kids to do during a morning invitation and I have to say it is currently one of my favorites because it’s one of the first activities that D really participated in and was able to do on his own once I showed him what we were doing. Seeing how proud he was of himself each time he put a bead in the right circle was everything.

This preschool activity works on sorting and color identification.

Step #3

Sort the beads based on their color.

Teacher Tip

All this requires modeling, and modeling, and modeling some more. I know I said that D was able to do it independently, but I was still sitting there next to him saying, “Where does this one go,” and, “Oh, that’s orange. Orange.  Orange. Orange.” Yes, he did get the concept and he did understand what we were doing, but he needed me still reinforcing the idea.
