After reading the book If I Built a Car, I was absolutely inspired to create my own car and I know your Lil’ will be too! This book is the perfect opportunity to inspire your Lil’ to create their own car using Play Doh and recyclables. I challenge you toast down and create with them, you will find that you are engaging your engineering and creativity skills.

Step #1

Lay out your supplies on a plate or party tray so that your Lil’ can easily see the materials that are available to them. I use this dish.

Step #2
Invite your Lil’ to use their imagination and build a car using Play Doh and other recyclable materials.

Teacher Tip

Feel free to add any recyclables you have to the creating bin, in addition to the materials list above we used sequins and strips of paper to design our cars.

Our Lil’ Explorers may need you to model for them how to create a car, as they are learning how to use their imagination. To be honest, Rea never ended up building a car she spent her time rolling snakes with the Play Doh but she loved it and she was working her fine motor skills and her imagination so who am I to judge.
