My Instagram newsfeed is FILLED with people trying out bleeding tissue paper art. Now, I am not one who likes to miss out, so I decided to give it a whirl. I felt it would work  perfectly with Eric Carle because his art work is always so inspiring and encourages me to try new mediums.

Brown Bear Tissue Paper Art Template

*Bleeding Tissue Paper

*Scissors

Water

*Spray Bottle

Step #1
Print and cut out the Brown Bear Tissue Paper Art Template.
Step #2
Cut the tissue paper into small squares.
Step #3
Lay the tissue paper on the template.
We chose to follow the story and we use brown tissue paper on the bear, red on the bird, etc.
Step #4
Spray the tissue paper with water. This causes the color to bleed from the paper and your template will soak it up.
Step #5
Lift the tissue paper and admire your art.

Teacher Tip

This activity does REQUIRE bleeding tissue paper. The cheap kind from the dollar store will not work because it has a waxy film on it that doesn’t allow the color to bleed.
