We will will be using this activity to learn to spell our names and to work on our sight words.
No templates needed for this super easy and low prep activity that will get your Lil’ moving and learning!

Lil’ Explorers Focus Skills

Reading

  • Recognizes name
  • Identify the letters in name

Gross Motor Skills

  • Use locomotor skills with balance in a variety of directions and changing directions during active play
  • Use locomotor skills with coordination in a variety of directions and changing directions during active play
  • Demonstrate coordination in using objects during active play
  • Utilize spatial awareness in active play

Fine Motor Skills

  • Engage in activities that require hand-eye coordination

Lil’ Creators Focus Skills

Required Materials

*White Paper

*Paper Plate

*Marker

Brooms

*Scissors

Step #1
Write your Lil’s name on the paper plates. Only write one letter on each plate.

Lil’ Creators also write the sight words on paper plates. (The entire word goes on the plate)

  • I, My, You, Is, Are
Step #2
Cut a piece of paper into thirds.

Creators will need 2 pieces.

Step #3
Write your Lil’s name on one piece of paper and the sight words on the remaining pieces of paper.
Step #4
Tape the pieces of paper along the bottom of a wall or along tipped over baskets to serve as the goal(s).
Step #5

Place the paper plates on the floor and invite your Lil’ to sweep the “puck” to the corresponding goals.

For their name, they will sweep all the letters to the name goal and put the letters in order.
