Name Recognition Activity for Preschoolers - Food Theme
Our food theme name recognition activity will have our kids hoppin’ and poppin’ around today as they learn the letters in their name. Our preschoolers are going to get some movement in as they hop from letter to letter. This is an editable freebie that will allow your preschooler to work on reading and identifying their name, spelling their name, and even writing their name if they are up for the challenge. I have different ideas of how to use this name recognition activity at the bottom of this post, but first, let’s talk details.
This activity is a fun way to work on gross motor skills, name recognition, and letter recognition.

Reading

Gross Motor Skills
- Use locomotor skills with balance in a variety of directions and changing directions during active play
- Use locomotor skills with coordination in a variety of directions and changing directions during active play
- Demonstrate coordination in using objects during active play
Required Materials
- Name Recognition Activity For Preschoolers Template
- Markers
- Scissors
- Print and cut out the Name Recognition Activity- Popcorn Template.
- Be sure to fill in your child’s name first.
Teacher Tip
There are two different ways you can play this:
- You can have your preschooler collect all the letters and when they are done the put the letters in order.
- You can have your preschooler collect the letters in order.
If you really want to extend this activity, try doing both!
