Dump Truck Letter Recognition Sensory Bin

Dump Truck Letter Recognition Sensory Bin

This letter recognition sensory bin activity is super simple to set up and your preschooler will love it. It will have them working on their fine motor skills, problem-solving skills, and letter recognition!
I’m not sure if I have shared this with you but I LIVE off of coffee! It is my fuel! With that said, today’s sensory bin activity had me in pure heaven because my house smelled like a coffeehouse!
I will warn you though, it can get messy so you may want to take it outside or to an area of the house that is easily vacuumed/swept!

*Sensory Bin

*Coffee

*Toy Tractor/Dump Truck

*Rocks

*Sharpie

Step #1
Pour coffee grounds in a sensory bin.
Step #2
Use a sharpie to write this month’s focus letters on the rocks. (One letter per rock)
I also included some of the letters we learned from previous months to review.
Step #3
Invite your preschooler to use their dump trucks and diggers to drive in and dig the coffee and rocks. Let them engage in free play for a while and then encourage them to work on letter recognition by finding various rocks. You can say things like, “Our construction crew needs the rock with a D on it. Can you use the truck to bring the letter D over here?”
